Welcome To Meadows
Either side of Julian Road on the south side of the island. That open southern exposure means more sun, longer views, and easy trail access to beautiful beaches. The meadows were historically kept open by fire, both wild and deliberately set.
The South Side runs along medium-high, south-facing bluffs and looks out over the Georgia Strait and its islands. In addition to Meadows Beach, there is Batchelor Beach to the east, accessed by the Sutherland Steps, and Sunset Trail to the west, which winds its way toward Indian Point, following the only developed south-facing beachfront on Savary. There’s a sandbar and Stradiotti Reef at low tide off the meadow end that’s pure magic in the summer.

About Meadows
Mostly for the sun and the views. The open southern exposure and high bluffs give this part of the island the longest light and the widest outlook over the Strait.
Sutherland Steps is steep and high, Meadows Beach is fairly low with a few stairs and graded trail and Sunset Trail is easy walk on beachfront.
It was originally the footpath from Indian Point to the Meadows. Today it’s a settled community along the only developed south-facing beachfront on Savary, with a summer sandbar that reaches out from the meadow end.
They are. Both clearings are genuine natural meadows, kept open over the years by wildfire and by fires people set on purpose, which is why they’ve stayed so open and sunny.
