Savary Shores was subdivided in the early 1970s, and it stands apart from the rest of the island in two ways. The lots are wider than usual, typically 70 to 80 feet against the 50-foot norm elsewhere, and it has the only community water system on Savary. Most waterfront lots here hold title right down to the high-water mark.
Turn right as you come off the dock and follow the road up the hill into the Shores. It’s a subdivision of roughly 220 lots, and for years it has been the island’s social centre, the heart of what people call “Downtown Savary.” The store, restaurant, bike rental, church, and gas depot have all called it home at one time or another. Beach paths cut through to the South Side at Manahan Road, Primrose Lane, and Phyllis Road, and there’s a 17-acre piece of Crown land at its edge.

Most waterfront lots hold title to the high-water mark, and public beach paths reach the South Side at Manahan Road, Primrose Lane (both ends of Patricia Crescent), and Phyllis Road.
